Support us

One of our core objectives is to increase the awareness and participation of society at large towards the goal of improving the health of low income households. We invite individuals and organizations who share this goal to support us in any way most suitable for them. We are actively seeking support of two types 1.) Financial support through donations 2.) Skills through volunteering time provided by interested individuals

1.) Financial support through donations

We are presently fundraising for our Latur project. You can make a donation of any amount towards this project. Every rupee you donate will be valuable to the people we are working with. We believe no amount is small; that every drop counts to make an ocean. We would encourage you to make some contribution, no matter how small and initiate the process of being a part of improving health of low income households.

All donations will go towards providing financial aid primarily towards setting up and operating comprehensive health systems till they become self-sustaining.

Following items will give you an idea of the amount required for some major items.

1. Cost of programme operations for 1 month = Rs.60,000

2. Cost of supporting one family's health insurance for 1 year = Rs.1,000

3. Cost of supporting a Community Health Worker within the community = Rs 1,000 per month

4. Cost of conducting a health camp providing free consultation and drugs at 50% discount = Rs 1,000 per camp

5. Cost of setting up and supporting a low cost clinic (50%+ discount on consultation, tests and drugs) till it becomes self-sustaining within a year = Rs 200,000 per clinic

Besides startup, typically the health system needs to bear certain losses for the first 18-24 months as it builds scale and becomes self-sustaining. We also provide financial aid to fund these losses as the health system becomes self-sustaining.

2.) Skills through volunteering time

Besides financial resources, significant human capacity of diverse skill set will be required to setup and operate comprehensive health systems. We are keenly looking for volunteers and interns, both part time and full time, to help in this process. Individuals who share our vision and think they can contribute towards our goal can write to us at info@swasth.org or contact us with some background information and areas of interest.

Given our special focus and current priority on building community health worker capacity, we are keen to hear from people who can aid in development of training material (e.g. doctors, nurses, health professionals) and / or conduct training programs for CHWs or train the trainer programs.
